Digital workflow applications
Replace paper, email, and spreadsheet processes with secure web applications: intake forms, case tracking, approvals, reporting.
Inside most agencies there is a process that runs on a PDF form, an inbox, and a spreadsheet someone maintains by hand. It works until that person is out, the volume doubles, or an auditor asks for the history. These are the highest-return systems to build, because the requirements are already written down in the shape of the paper.
We map the process with the people who run it, build a web application with the roles, approvals, audit trail, and reporting it needs, integrate with the systems that already hold the data, and roll it out in stages so nothing stops while the old way is retired. Automated tests and documented handover are part of the build, not an add-on.
How an engagement runs
Four steps, each with something you can review.
- 01
Discovery
We meet the people who use the system and the people who run it, read what exists, and write down what the work actually is. You get a scoped proposal with a fixed price or a capped estimate.
- 02
Design
Structure, flows, and a design system you approve before anything is built. Accessibility decisions are made here, where they are cheap.
- 03
Build and test
Development in short, reviewable increments with automated tests, keyboard and screen reader testing, and staging access for your team throughout.
- 04
Launch and handover
Deployment, documentation, editor or administrator training, and a defined support period. The goal is that your team can run it without us.
Why a certified DVBE
- Certified California DVBE — counts toward the state's 3% DVBE participation goal and eligible for direct award under the SB/DVBE Option
- Accessibility is built in from the first commit: this site is built to WCAG 2.1 AA, works with JavaScript disabled, and prints cleanly
- Small, senior team. The people who scope the work build the work
- Government-network constraints treated as requirements: locked-down browsers, content proxies, no third-party scripts
Other services
- Website modernizationRedesign and rebuild of public-facing government sites: content structure, design system, accessible front-end, CMS, and deployment.
- Accessibility & UX remediationAudit an existing site or application against WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508, fix what fails, and test it with assistive technology.
